We at Powder Mountain Press are happy to welcome Christina Shepherd McGuire as the new editor of Teton Family Magazine. Christina is a freelance writer, blogger, and brand strategist who works in the outdoor, fashion, and natural living industries. Among other magazines and websites, she has written for Action Outdoor & Bike, Transworld Business, LIVESTRONG.com, The Nest, typeF.com (the website of Tyra Banks) and Teton Family Magazine. The mother of Olivia, 7, and Shea, 4, she moved to Teton Valley in 1995.
At her blog, www.skirtingseason.com , Christina writes this about herself: "I grew up in New England, which dictates my Yankee style, but moved west many years ago to grasp my adventurous spirit. And, boy did I get that done! I spent over 15 years working in the snowboard industry and exploring next to every ski mecca in the lower 48, including resorts in Canada and Europe. Today I enjoy more simple pleasures, like first-grade homework, slogging through muck at my local dairy farm, or sitting quietly and grounding my hurried mind."
Sue Muncaster, who edited Teton Family Magazine for the past four years (she'll continue doing freelance writing for us), recommended Christina as her replacement. "I'm so excited that Christina is taking over this project," Sue said. "She has outstanding writing and social media skills. These, combined with a solid vision and enthusiasm for sustainable living, will bring Teton Family Magazine and its website to a new level."
"When Sue contacted me about taking over the magazine, I was extremely honored," Christina said. "I thought, 'Wow-I am the magazine's target audience; I would love to help shape its rich content!' I'm excited to carry Sue's torch and hope to continue the remarkable job she's done inspiring our mountain community. I value tradition and strive to promote a balanced and sustainable work and family life. My hopes are to inspire others to do the same."
Sounds like a perfect fit!
